Denver, CO, June 1, 2000 – C-Risk, Inc. President, David L. Grenier, has announced the addition of a construction defect mitigation
business unit to the risk management consulting firm's client services. C-Risk is an independent insurance and risk management
consultancy, comprised of a network of construction, insurance and risk management professionals that provide risk management
services exclusively to construction industry clients.
C-Risk has named William J. Jorgensen as Vice President to manage the construction defect (CD) mitigation
business unit. Mr. Jorgensen has been providing construction defect investigations, analyses and related consulting services to insurance
companies, builders and developers for the past seven years. He has more than 27 years total construction industry experience in both
residential and commercial construction, and has authored several books on building construction standards.
Currently, Mr. Jorgensen has investigated more than 900 individual claims for
alleged construction defects in the most litigated and prolific state for construction defect claims, Southern California.
Investigations have included cause and origin of alleged defects, research of current and past code conformance,
reviews of manufactures installation recommendation requirements, as well as industry standard reviews based on national
trade associations and/or construction industry organizations recommended standards and practices.
The C-Risk CD Mitigation business unit will provide construction defect investigation and analysis
services to insurance companies for cause and origin of alleged defects, as well as provide a variety of risk management consulting
services to builders, developers, contractors and sub-contractors, says Mr. Jorgensen. C-Risk will emphasize quality-housing construction
by delivering an innovative solution that redefines the concept of protection, through third-party Quality Control/Quality Assurance services.
C-Risk has increased the standard of care, says Mr. Grenier, or as our CD Mitigation consultants
like to refer, "raised-the-bar", in areas of building construction that have proven to be the most problematic and costly, as it relates to
both construction defects and homeowner complaints. These raise-the-bar standards have been rigorously designed to not increase
the cost of construction or the projected sales price of single-family or multi-family homes. This provides real value to builders, while
providing homeowners with the assurance of a quality-constructed and defect-free home.
