The C-Risk Reference Library is a resource for construction industry
professionals. It was developed to educate owners, developers, contractors and other construction practitioners
on the inherent risks and exposures of construction operations, proliferation of emerging trends in construction
risk management, contract administration, and project delivery, and provide insight on the evaluation of risk transfer
and risk financing alternatives.
C-Risk recognized that there was a void in construction risk management information and resources available to
enable construction professionals to make critical business decisions. We also realized that the more informed
and knowledgeable a project owner or contractor is, the higher the probability for success on construction projects.
The C-Risk Reference Library was developed to facilitate this knowledge-transfer process and provide an educational
resource to help construction industry professionals learn more about construction risk management practices.
There are seven sections of the Resource Library. The Dictionaries section includes links to standard,
collegiate, and architectural, engineering and construction dictionaries. The Glossaries section includes construction glossaries on building technology and construction
industry terms and definitions, as well as glossaries on business, insurance and financial terms and definitions.
The Directories section provides links to a variety of construction, insurance and
risk management information.
The Articles section includes papers, journal articles and publications authored by C-Risk consultants and other professionals in the field of
construction, architecture, engineering, insurance, risk management, and law. The
Periodicals section provides links to major newspapers, and an assortment of magazines,
professional and trade journals that contain construction industry news and information.
The Codes & Standards
section provides links to information on national and regional building codes, standards, and regulatory agencies, departments,
and associations. We also included a section on State Insurance, which provides links
to the departments of insurance for all States.
The informational resources provided in the C-Risk Reference Library are for general information purposes only
and are not intended or do not constitute the rendering of legal advice. Regulatory restrictions or prohibitions
on the use of specific construction, insurance and/or risk management practices vary from State to State. Therefore,
you should always consult with legal counsel to determine the specific laws or decisions that apply in your State,
or in your specific circumstances.
The C-Risk Reference Library is a dynamic resource that will be updated periodically to include additional educational and informational
content on construction, insurance and risk management. C-Risk welcomes and appreciates any input or feedback on its future development.
